Choosing the right apparel is essential for extending your rafting season into the cool fall months. Water draws heat away from your body some 25 times faster than air, so always dress for the possibility of a swim and always wear your life jacket. Wear insulating base layers of synthetic fibers and neoprene to protect your body core, hands, feet and head from the cold. Cover your insulating layers with waterproof and breathable outerwear such as a drytop or splash top.
